September is here! The kids are back in school and whether you’re a parent or not, the day after Labour Day is typically seen as the end of summer vacation – a time for everyone to get back into their routine. To help you get back into your routine, I’ve rounded up five recipes that will kick start your day, provide snacks for baby, toddler and kid lunches, or help you get a quick dinner on the table.
Spinach Mango Smoothie
Keep the feeling of summer going with this tropical inspired smoothie. Packed with plant-based protein and iron, as well as a healthy dose of vitamin C to help you absorb the iron, this smoothie will keep you energized all morning long.
Mini Apple Cinnamon Muffins
These mini muffins are perfect for lunches or an after-school snack. Created with baby in mind, they are loaded with iron, soft in texture, and the perfect size for tiny hands.
Carrot Ginger and Cardamom Soup
Technically, autumn is still three weeks away, but this is the perfect soup to get you ready for cooler nights. This soup is quick to make, so you can enjoy with a sandwich for a quick and light weeknight meal, or take with you to work for lunch.
Vanilla Chia Pudding
Chia pudding is perfect for breakfast, a snack, or even dessert. This recipe is easily scaled up for meal prep Sunday, and if you check the notes there’s a modification for a chocolate version.
Spiced Chocolate Smoothie
Speaking of chocolate – who doesn’t love chocolate for breakfast? Warming spices make this smoothie a great transition breakfast, when it’s not quite cold enough for oatmeal, but you can start to feel the chill in the air in the mornings.
