What Is Intuitive Eating?
Intuitive Eating is a self-care framework developed by two registered dietitians designed to help you heal your relationship with food. This approach is weight-inclusive, HAES-aligned, and has a validated assessment tool, along with a growing body of research demonstrating improved mental and physical health outcomes.
There are 10 Principles that teach you how to tune into your body’s physical cues and remove negative rules, thoughts, and beliefs, so you can honour your health and meet your body’s needs.
How Do I Know If This Approach Is Right for Me?

- feeling guilt or shame after eating so-called “junk” or “bad” foods
- are exhausted from a lifetime of dieting, but feel stuck as to what to do next

Nutrition Therapy by a Registered Dietitian and Certified Intuitive Eating Counsellor
Working with a registered dietitian means you can use this self-care framework to help you manage a health condition like diabetes, PCOS, or fatty liver disease, as well as help improve your relationship with food and your body.
Melanie is also a Certified Intuitive Eating Counsellor, meaning she has been trained by the dietitians who originally developed this approach.

Initial Assessment & Consultation, 60 minutes $150
In this session we will review your health and nutrition goals, relevant medical history and focus on your current eating practices, dieting history, and relationship with food. Together we can determine which Principles of Intuitive Eating to work through first and create a realistic plan for moving forward.
1 Hour Follow-Up Session $125
A full hour to dive deeper into your concerns and work through challenging topics or questions. This length of follow-up is also well-suited to individuals with complex nutrition needs or simply want more time with their dietitian.
30 Minute Follow-Up Session $90
A great option for accountability and to check in on progress. Frequent, shorter sessions may also fit your schedule better or be suitable for individuals already familiar with Intuitive Eating.
